A note from Marshworks...

Beatrix Potter wrote and illustrated a book she called, Peter Rabbit. She believed in her small book, but it was not what traditional publishers were looking for. At the time, they wanted books that rhymed, but hers did not. Big books were popular, but hers was small. She decided to publish the book herself and faced financial risk and book pirates, but she persisted, believing in the future of this book. Since that time, The Tale of Peter Rabbit has sold 45 million copies and is one of the best selling books of all time.

Small presses and self publishers today face these same perils, but with the same conviction and belief in the value of their work, they too press on and face the risks of "putting it out there". Marshworks Designs Books were not created to please trends, mass production, or the needs of all, but to offer a honesty and humility that comes from conviction and purpose. Our books contain a hopeful message of encouragement and inspiration that will hopefully fulfill this purpose.

Marshworks Designs is a small publisher of books, fine art, notecards, etc. Projects also include custom design work, cookbook contributions and original coloring books for national parks and museums. 

Marshworks feature author is Lonna Fagan.  She is an artist, designer and illustrator. Her work has been in collections, galleries and gift shops of Alaska and Oregon for many years. She began creating books for her own children when they were small in order to pass on values and things she wanted them to consider.
